Road to Dublin

"Determined and inspired, we made our way to Chicago for the AKA National Championship for a chance to represent Team USA.."

About 8 months ago I competed at my first GS kettlebell sport competition at the 2015 Ice Chamber West Coast Classic. I finished my 16k snatch set with 177 reps and took 2nd place to a tough, experienced lifter. Not bad, but not good enough to satisfy my competitive craving.

First snatch competition

After many meets and months of training we made our way to Chicago for the AKA National Championship for a chance to represent Team USA. In an extremely close battle, I took first place with 206 reps and received my invitation to compete at the World Championship in Dublin!  A dream come true.

Much respect to the strong competitors that kept me pushing in training.  I’m happy to know that they will be joining us in Dublin as well.  Go Team USA!

Thanks to my coach KB Fit Britt, my acupuncturist Meghan Griffin, L.Ac., my therapist Alan Calero ;), my brother from another mother Dan Bettcher and my friends and family who supported me through this long journey.

I can finally say the trip is booked and the “Road to Dublin” is in full effect!  Now its time to get back to work!
